Ezekiel and the Dancing Dragon is an animation inspired by real experiences of neurodivergent Black Britons, misdiagnosed with psychotic disorders and sectioned into psychiatric institutions. Re-imagining neurodivergence as a magical companion, a dragon, the story’s protagonist, Ezekiel, learns to love his difference, despite society’s attempts to neglect it.
The animation was showcased at Genesis Cinema, during a screening organised by Contemporary Art Practice students at the Royal College of Art.
