Brown initiated a passion project, To Release A Spirit, involving the re-making of a Taino sculpture using the 3D CAD software Blender, with intentions to push the model further through film and animation. The Taino sculpture - Bird-man, looted from Jamaica and now held in the British Museum - has had a large impact on Brown’s research and practice, featuring most recently in his fictional memoir The Fantastic Memoir of the Life of Lucius Alexander, A Haint, an award-winning project exhibited across Birmingham.
