This magical-realist memoir reimagines 19th-century London as a site for repatriation, where a Black Briton is sent to recover a stolen Caribbean sculpture from the British Museum. It exposes the lingering power of colonialism, challenging imperial legacies and drawing powerful parallels to today’s struggles for restitution and cultural identity.
